Our main purpose as a volunteer group is to build a database of local producers and interested consumers, that can be used by both parties to find where and when local foods are available. Registration is required to login and access the database. Click here to

.

Please email us if you have questions on how the database works. New producers and consumers are continually being added to the list, so please check back often to see who has what food available in Vanderhoof.

Seed Potatoes Needing a Home

The Nechako Valley Community Services Society has generously received a massive donation of seed potatoes. They are now looking for space to plant the potatoes. Their vision is that the potatoes be available to people who are in need. NVCSS will plant and harvest, but are looking for garden space and gardeners to tend the plants. They have A LOT of seed potatoes and hope to plant them all! Please contact NVCSS directly by email.

NVFN Food Events!

Members of the NVFN are planning some interesting Food Events for the summer. We will post information for some garden tours in Prince George. If you have an idea of a food related tour or event that you'd like to host for the community (or just your friends), let us know and we can help you get the word out!

SinkutView School Greenhouse - 'part of the community'

Students at SinkutView School in Vanderhoof have been learning about gardening, plants and good health by working in the greenhouse that they built at the school. When school is out starting in July, the greenhouse will be empty and free for use by the community. Call the school at 250-567-5133 or email them for more info.
